Pitt County Relief Updates
Grifton Mission Ministries is open daily from 8 A.M. to 8 P.M.. 300-500 people are walking through their doors for a hot meal as well as water, food and other supplies. They are taking donations including non-perishable food and water. In addition to donations, the mission also needs volunteers. Once the need for food is addressed, organizers plan on doing repair work.
If you need help or to donate or volunteer, please call 252-531-1931 or visit 6499 Highland Ave, Grifton, NC 28530.
ECU: As Greenville, Pitt County and eastern North Carolina’s surrounding communities recover from Hurricane Florence, East Carolina University is here to assist the region and its on-going needs due to storm damage. While ECU is still concentrating on the flooding’s immediate impact, we’re also looking ahead to long-term opportunities for service in the recovery process. CLICK HERE to find ways that you can receive help, volunteer to help others, and donate your time to help the community during the recovery process.
Pet Food Pantry Hurricane Outreach – Pantry volunteers worked in downtown Kinston on Monday, checking on pets & their owners who were in flooded neighborhoods. We distributed over 1000lbs of food and provided some much needed collars & leashes. It was great to have the assistance of Lenoir Co SPCA in the community & we were happy to be able to help them out with dog food as they prep a shelter on the other side of the river for incoming animals who are victims of the hurricane.
We will be in Grifton & Washington this week and soon as roads are clear we will be heading to the New Bern area. Your donations are critical for us to continue our disaster relief outreach efforts. www.petfoodpantryenc.org
