Onslow County Updates 9-23
FEEDING SITE UPDATE: Due to the amazing support of the Onslow County community; with multiple locations providing meals to hurricane survivors, starting today, Sunday, September 23, the American Red Cross will relocate their mobile feeding site located in Jacksonville in the New River Shopping Center. Hurricane survivors that usually obtained meals at the New River Shopping Center feeding site will be able to find meals at Catalyst Church located on Gum Branch Rd.
Also, starting tomorrow, Monday, September 24, the Belgrade feeding site will be relocated to another area; possibly in Chinquapin, Beulaville, or the Pink Hill area. Please continue to monitor our social media pages for more feeding times and locations.
Relief Event: Community Disaster Relief Event at Abundant Life Community Outreach today until 3pm at 1518 Gum Branch Rd in Jacksonville. Providing meals, groceries and supplies.
The State of North Carolina and FEMA are opening a Disaster Recovery Center in Onslow County in the City of Jacksonville. The Center is located Next to Don Williamson Nissan 312 Western Blvd. Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. & Sunday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Recovery specialists from FEMA, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), the state and other interests will be at the centers to talk about assistance and to help anyone who needs guidance in filing an application.
Homeowners, renters, and businesses should register for disaster assistance before visiting a recovery center by:
• Visiting http://DisasterAssistance.gov.
• Calling 800-621-3362 (TTY: 800-462-7585).
• Using the FEMA app, available for Apple and Android mobile devices at http://fema.gov/mobile-app.
• Texting DRC and zip code to 43362 (4FEMA).
Onslow Community Outreach Soup Kitchen will open Monday through Friday starting Wednesday, September 19, 2018 through Saturday, September 22, 2018, 11AM-5PM and Sunday, September 22, 2018, 1-5PM, if needed.

Brigade Boys & Girls Club announces it will open Onslow County operations on Tuesday, September 25th and will remain open until traditional school schedules resumes. In an effort to serve the community, all program fees are waived. In addition, the Club is open to all children, with any non-current members needing to complete necessary paperwork. Please note there are capacity maximums at each site.
