Lenoir County Updates 9-20
The water continues to rise. The Neuse River is flexing her muscles. It should crest Friday night or Saturday morning. Hwy 70 through Kinston is extremely busy, and very shallow water is crossing Hwy 70 near 258 South. We will continue to monitor the situation. Please stay clear of the area if at all possible. If not, please have patience, drive carefully, and expect slow travel.
ALERT: Due to rising water from the Neuse River, it is imminent that all lanes of U.S. 70 will close soon near Neuse Sport Shop.

Road Conditions – HWY 258 South is CLOSED from US 70 to Will Baker Rd as of 2:30am 9-20-2018. Please follow NC DOT Detour signs that are in place.
Lenoir County has been added for federal assistance. – disasterassistance.gov – Online application takes about 20 mins.
