Jones County Updates 9-21

Animal Services from Person County have been deployed to Jones County. If you have animal services related calls let us know at 919-635-8158. We know there are several animals that have been separated from their owners by the storm. Lets do what we can to relocate these animals.

The following are the distribution points that we have identified so far for supplies that are being donated. Some of these locations are able to take small shipments directly. We are still planning to use the Civic Center as a central receiving point for large trucks since we have a forklift and loading dock. We will then us our team of National Guard to get the supplies out to the various parts of the County. We are still working on a location in the Long Point area. If you have other locations that are taking items please call 252-397-0007. Again, are citizens are humbled and grateful for all the outpouring of support and donations we received so far.

Additional Water leaks were identified yesterday along Oak Grove Road, and Hwy 58 south of Trenton. We had to shut off specific areas to isolate these leaks. Crews will be on site today to insert additional valves to begin repairs to the lines. If you see a broken water pipe or leak in your area please report it to 252-397-0007. The boil water advisory is still in effect until we fix all leaks and take required samples.
